It's not the best horror film ever made, but I think it's pretty well made.

Agree. Awesome movie which is actually scary.
shareThe family dynamics is what makes the movie work for me. It's disturbing at their level of dysfunction. The supernatural elements seem to spoil it.

Yes, I agree with you there. I believe the film should've ended after the family died with Sonny being arrested for the murders. All of the exorcism business seemed forced to me and felt like it belonged in another film. But other than that, I love the movie. I don't think it deserves it's poor rating at all. I rated it an 8/10.
