This is a real horror movie, not only scary but the domestic horror involved (i.e. wife beating, incest) separates it from other movies that are too afraid to focus on these subjects.
Definitely a cult classic!

possibly my favorite horror film of all time, in fact... so yeah, can't agree more. 10/10 in a heartbeat. The music, the atmosphere... closest thing a modern horror flick has come is the Conjuring, but it still didn't have the umph of this film's disturbing premise and totally messed up subject matter.
