shocking thing is, sister wasnt sorry about what happned..

i thought, ahh its just the possession thing, but no the sister seemed really into sonny. and wanted to keep it going... very strange...

Yeah WTF was that all about LOL.

She probably enjoyed and was disgusted at the same time. I think she was very confused and emotionally disturbed by what happened.

I'll try to keep this short..... My best educated guess about her attitude towards sonny is this.... They both were close in age, maturing mentally and physically from teens, to young adults, living in a house with an dominating abusive father, and a weak and unstable mother. At some point I imagine, both siblings began to protect each other (as shown during the mirror scene when the father begins yelling at sonny and patrica gets up to block the father, protecting sonny.) Before sonny was possessed, I would imagine there was a closeness and sense of protection installed in both of them from the many years of mental and physical abuse they suffered. They probably covered for each other often or maybe took the blame or beatings for each other during troubled times. sonny was just starting to gain his freedom and probably dated a girl or two, where as, patrica still had some years to go before she could get away from dear daddy-poo. When sonny became possessed, the demon made sexual advances to be disgusting and sinful. The sister however, in a confused state (and probably abit messed up from the house's evil) accepted his advances. I am pretty sure she was a virgin before sonny, in fact, her father probably never allowed her to even date guys, perhaps the father at some point made sexual advances at her, so maybe she did not think it wrong to love someone that way, even if they were related. Anyways, just my opinion and/or theory, hope it offers some sorta insight.

Haha, well thank you guys :-)

Great analysis.

But, frankly, I think they threw it in just to make it controversial...and it worked.

There were rumors about Ronnie Jr and Dawn DeFeo having an incestuous relationship in real life. I don't know where they stem from or if they are real or not, but I'm sure it's where the film makers got the notion to incorporate it.

The incest angle was the only good part of this movie.

Here's something that'll shock and disturb you all. Sibling incest is actually a lot more common than people think. I first saw this movie when I was really young, back before I even knew what incest was. When I saw what the brother and sister were doing in the movie, I was shocked since the possibility of sex between family never even occurred to me as even being possible. I sickened and didn't know what to think about it, so I did some research wondering why anyone would do something so disgusting (the brother was possessed, but the sister wasn't, so what's her excuse). Anyway, the research I did indicated that approximately 10% of all teenagers commit incest. 90% of these cases is due to sexual experimenting (that's still nasty), while the remaining 10% actually have romantic feelings for each other (wtf?). That means that if there are 6.2 billion people in the world, then about 620 million commit incest, blah! You may now go and vomit, I certainly did.

She went to confession and cried, but then she asked Sonny "Are you feeling guilty? Because I'm not." So I think deep down she liked what was going on. Although she tried to convince herself otherwise and knew it was wrong, she couldn't help but enjoy it anyways.

Burn, witch! Burn, witch! Burn! Burn! Burn!

I think sillyheart1977 explained it very well. All these who still don't understand the sister's behaviour should read his post.
