scared the crap out of me - aaaargh

This film scared the hell out of me. The creepy bloody following people round with the camera (jesus christ) that was freaky as hell - the music was creepy.
The part that scared the hell out of me & still does (and im an adult now) was the part where the sheet flew off the table & covered the crucifix.
First time i saw that, i nearly crapped myself hahahahaha

It was only a sheet but bloody hell - camera person did an amazing job.
The weird face on Sonny changing was horrible too, i didn't like the ending when he went & shot everybody - dreadful.
Spooky horrible bloody film that still gives me nightmares.
I disagreed with the brother & sister scene though as this is majorly
disrespectful to the real family i believe.
Nothing like that happened in the Defeo family - really bad to put that in this film.

I don't think there was real incest either. I think the idea came from something in a book by Hans Holzer, Murder in Amityville, I think.

I saw this when I was a kid and I thought the scariest scene was when Sonny stays alone in what is supposed to be this very haunted house, and that entire scene of him being stalked and then possessed was the scariest to me.

Wow! This movie scared you? You must be a real horror lightweight!

That scene scared me too as a kid, definitely came back to me whenever I was alone in the house. I think this was the first horror I'd ever watched, and of course when you hear as a child it was based on a "true story" that makes it even more plausible. Now as an adult I see that as a film it's average at best, I still think it has some effective qualities.

It's a very good sequel (although, I know, actually it's a prequel, LOL). I re-watched it last night after 4 or 5 years, and I had forgotten how terrifying it was. Plenty of creepy moments, and a great atmosphere. The only thing that disappointed me was the very ending, but until that point, everything was fine.
