Opening Titles: Great except for one thing . . .
I love the opening credits for TTSS: the nesting dolls, with ever more serious expressions leading up to a blank face. Lovely, and it comes right from the book (paragraph near the end references the Russian dolls as a metaphor).
So, I was really excited to see that SP also got great opening credits: the weird and artsy chalk line, played out over different textures and odd angles. Great for the topsy turvy world of the movie.
But, the explosion of the chalk itself in the final seconds is just ridiculous. An editor should have said: "Nahh. Let's stick to the subtle approach."
Bronagh Gallagher/The Commitments: runner up to Joe Pesci for times f* was said in a movie.
