is Gary Oldman in Smiley's people (1982)
I was re watching the UK DVD of this & Tinker tailor for the umpteenth time.
A wonderful cast and a lot of Actors crop up in small roles (Alan Rickman as the Concierge at the Hotel, Warren Clarke as the deskman at the Circus (TTSS), Michael Elphick as the Police officer))
When Madame Ostrakova goes to the Russian Embassy to complete the paper work for the release of her daughter, she is met by an Ambassador who is thin with a moustache. He doesn't speak, the episode is told in flashback. Is that Gary Oldman by any chance ? It looks like him. Couldn't find him credited, it's a very small role, but then that was early in his career.
