Superb Acting

To me, this is one of the finest acting jobs I've ever seen. Although Alec Guinness's expression rarely changes (he is not "showing" us by emoting), yet at every moment we can tell when he is disgusted, amused, revolted, etc., simply because he is utterly feeling those things, completely in the character and the moment. I think many people, judging from their judgments of actors, think that unless an actor is chewing the scenery they aren't acting. I have nothing against emotive performances but compared to this it is I'm A Little Teacup acting. Conveying what the character is going through without having to "show" us is acting at its finest, and Alec Guinness was a true master.
