Honestly, I consider Fame a guilty pleasure. I mean, this show is so EASY to make fun of. I mean, barely any of them can sing, and everything can be so predictable. But, I cant help but love it.

Hmm... I think they're all pretty talented. I think they started casting more experienced singers/dancers as the show progressed though. The first season they had the cello player, the pianist, the comedian, etc. The writing, to me, is outstanding in the early seasons. I suppose a bit of corniness here and there could stem from the 80's setting.

I think that the corny came from the fact that it was the Early 80's and a lot of the stuff they couldn't say, not like they can today. I mean, saying orgy in prime time was pretty wild stuff. Now it's just plain tame. The writing at the time was fairly good,but they couldn't dive deep cause then we wouldn't have time for the songs and the dancing!
