I remember watching this with my mother when I was a kid, but that´s about it. I don´t remember any episodes, apart from this one scene which has been stuck in my head for ages: In this episode a new boy starts school. He seems to a bit slow and people make fun of him. In this one scene someone tells him “Break a leg” and he doesn´t get what it means but takes it literally.
Does anyone know what episode this might be?

I don't know the name of the specific episode, but I bet Jimmy Osmond played the slow kid. Try looking him up on imdb. You'll probably get your answer.
