Does anyone else notice the sometimes slow dialogue (Debbie Allen), the over acting (Erica Gimpel) and the horrible singing by some of these cast members? I used to love this show back in the day, but when I watch it now it's somewhat painful.
shareI don't agree with the original episodes being slow. I love Debbie Allen's calm voice. And yeah Erica Gimpel overacts but she still had the spirit of Irene Cara's film version of Coco. The first season is much better than the later seasons.
shareI didn't like the later seasons because it lacked the original characters I knew and loved. Although I wish that Coco was played by Irene Cara. She was better than Erica Gimpel in my opinion.

I still get a kick out of watching it all these years later. I remember being sad when holly left and not at all happy when they killed off nikki. Nia is still smoking hot.

I have to agree with the OP about the show not aging well. I loved it when I was younger, but the uneven acting by all of the original young cast does seem more evident now. I would be interested to see how the last few seasons would look now- I don't care for the middle years where every episode seemed to center around Nicole and Jesse, but I liked Reggie, Ian, Dusty at the end.
