Season 6 on Ovation TV

Ovation TV has started showing season 6. It's very interesting to see how the show changed from just the previous season: The style of dance changed as well as there being fewer dance numbers - it's painfully obvious that Debbie Allen was no longer coreographing the dance sequences, Ms. Sherwood and Kate are gone, we see less of Debbie Allen, Gene Anthony Ray and Billy Hufsey, and we also see much less of Nia Peeples after the break-up espisode. (It's almost seems she was reduced to 2nd player status.)Also, it didn't make sense that Christopher Donlon graduated before Danny Amatullo and they make joke of it in the final "reunion" episode. I still enjoy watching it because they still had a few episodes during this season that were very good: "The Last Dance", "Go Softly into Morning", to name a few. Still a good show despite the painful changes.

Yes Danny Amatullo should had graduated after the 4th season had concluded. The character still being around in the sixth season made the show so unbalance. Unless Danny Amatullo was a three year senior who failed his last year twice.

Yeah I've heard people talk about how Season 6 was better than Season 5. I don't agree, I mean the new characters were weak and like Chokalitejm said, we see less of Miss Grant, Leroy, and Christopher. Danny Amatullo having to come back another year is just plain silly to me. And even though the episode where Nia Peeples(Nicole) dies is excellent. It hurt that she was off the show. I could watch more of the Season 5 episodes than Season 6.

I could definitely watch season 5 over season 6. As a teenager, I was so upset over Nia not being on the show anymore (I think she should have stuck it out for the remaining half of the final season) I actually wrote a letter to the producers that they should have given her more to do and not bring in new characters that were not as good as Nicole, Jesse, LeRoy, etc. In a nutshell, they wrote back stating they have a large cast and they can't focus on one individual cast member week after week and they are sure I would like the new characters as much as the old ones - NOT!

I too was stunned to see Carlo Imperato (Danny) still in there on the 6th season when he definitely should have graduated!!!

I'm watching season 6 right now -- most of it recorded from Ovation while I was out of town on vacation. There is definitely a sink in the quality, and yes, you can definitely tell that Debbie Allen is no longer choreographing.
