which actors from the movie stayed for the show?

Also, there was Ms. Sherwood, recast for the tv series. And I believe there was a Mrs. Berg in the movie and tv show, but they were different types of characters. And of course some of the parents (such as the mother of Doris and the father of Bruno) were featured in the movie but recast for the series.

Only a few stayed. Albert Hague who played Mr Shorofsky, Debbie Allen and Lee Curreri.
