I am curious how Fame and Glee, both series about talented performers in high school, have things in common. Sadly, Fame did poorly in the ratings while Glee lasted for quite a while. Was the idea for Glee based on Fame at all? Fame was all drama while Glee had comedic elements as well.

Glee was not inspired by this show. It was inspired by Ryan Murphy's experience in high school at a choir. As for Glee lasting quite a while more than this show, not quite. This show lasted a good five-and-half-years and Glee lasted a just a few months longer than that. Both shows ran six seasons though and this show produced more episodes than Glee did.
