series on dvd
does anyone know when they will release the series on dvd everything else is out on dvd why not cagney & lacy? please let me know thanks.

Amazon.com has a page devoted to this series with a DVD release date of December 31, 1969, and a note saying they know that's an incorrect date and they will post a new date once they fix the problem. You can also sign up to receive an e-mail once the DVD is available to pre-order by filling in your e-mail address in the box at the top right of the product page.
I'm not sure if this will be the pilot movie or the first season of the TV series that will be issued.

Cagney and Lacey was released on dvd region 2 in the United Kingdom well over a year ago. It was called volume 1 and had nine random episodes from what i understand was the first season with no extras. But for any fan of C&L this was a must have. This was available on most online retailers in the UK for under £10 up until October 2005.If you have a good look you might still be lucky.

Apparently, Sony is nervous about season 1 and the pilot, because they don't feature Sharon Gless, the best-known Chris Cagney. The possibilities they're talking about are a set with the pilot, seasons 1 and 2; the pilot and season 2; and season 2 only. Obviously, if they go with a set that has more content, it will be priced higher. I'd be willing to pay more to have the pilot and the rarely-seen season 1 shows, but the general audience might not.

I got the whole 125 episodes, plus pilot and 4 movies on ioffer.com for $89 plus $8 shipping. I have watched 14 of the dvds (there are 6 episodes per dvd) so far and they are not top quality in audio, but I am thankful to have them. I also have almost every episode on vcr tapes and prefer to watch those because the sound is better.
shareYeahhhhhhh how much were u paid to say that, those cheapskating scammers with ripoff bootleg copies it sickens me!! Even more than the studios not releasing these programs.

J, are you sure this is legit?
Also, why only release it in Region 2? It was a US show! I don't get it! I wish there would be a way to release every season plus the 4, or however many 1990's reunion tv movies on dvd!

May 8th, 2007 is the release date that tvshowsondvd.com has announced. It will not contain the tv movie (with Loretta Switt) or season one (with Meg Foster)but will start with season two (with Sharon Gless)
