Chris is more introverted.......... ....

I've noticed now that Chris, despite her fiery temper and steely determination, is actually quieter than outgoing Mary Beth; she's introverted. I notice at the end of the day, she usually is eager to head right home to her apartment and usually be alone.

Even when she works late, it's generally on her own; I think she sees this as her relaxation time and recharging of her energy before she deals with people again and even with any crowds on her way home.

It's something I'd long forgotten until now. Notice how Mary Beth does most of the talking and is more outgoing and less shy.

It's funny because both women are rather sensitive, yet Mary Beth is more deeply sensitive and cries more easily, yet Chris is rather quiet (much of the time) and a little shy at times.

Take a look at how sometimes Chris is rather quiet and a bit awkward in social situations while Mary Beth is chattering away.

Interesting dynamic.

I think Chris gets angry/frustrated when she can't just go out and arrest all the bad guys (due to bureaucracy and/or lack of evidence on a case). I don't think she's shy in her relationships...until they get too serious. Then she breaks up with the guy. The quickest way to get her to dump a guy is for the guy to propose. It happened twice. She's definitely an introvert.

Mary Beth is like a good-natured busybody who wants to save the world. She's more into the social work aspect of police work and wants to work to prevent the crimes from happening in the first place. I think she starts chattering when she gets nervous.

True about Mary Beth chattering away when she is nervous...it's interesting to watch...often her voice gets even more high-pitched than it already is. Mary Beth is usually very talkative to begin with. I love her; she's so extroverted and not at all shy, yet so sensitive also.

With Chris, something it's the guy who breaks up with her. Interesting women, both of them.

Mary Beth's voice seems especially high-pitched/screechy (not sure exactly how to describe it) during the last season. In several episodes I just want her to go a bit deeper when speaking.

Re Chris - I get the impression that she either dumps a guy when she gets bored with him or when it gets too serious (Dory) or she tells him what she wants which conflicts with what he wants, so she essentially forces him to break up with her (David).
