Favorite epis/sequences?

Starting at 44:40 in "Matinee" when Cagney confronts Samuels about going to his son who was in jail/court. Powerful shyt.
Also, why was Daly awarded more Emmys than Gless?

I liked the sequence of Cagney trying to get Lacey to hospital to have her baby in her clapped out car and terrible traffic:)

I like almost every episode, and several are just fantastic. Matinee and Alice's birth, as mentioned. Also, when Chris is shot, when she has a pregnancy scare, Recreational Use, Thank God It's Monday, To Sir With Love, the Christmas episode where Chris and Newman work together, the season five (four on the DVDs) finale where Newman is killed, the two-part breast cancer episode (including the sergeant's exam plot) and the episode after where Chris' car is stolen and then that's the question she's asked for her video part of the exam; the episode where Dory proposes to Chris (the case they work that episode is hilarious too), and the first part of the two-parter where Charlie dies and Chris descends into alcoholism. The second part is great acting too, but it's tough to watch. Also, where Mary Beth is taken hostage, Old Debts, Filial Duty, Extradition, and Old Ghosts.

I dislike the two-part series finale, the marathon episode, Mr. Lonelyhearts, The Bounty Hunter, the episode where Chris is sexually harassed, Ordinary Hero, and every episode involving Mansfield. I also dislike Cagney's niece, but like her brother.

The scene I remember from when I watched it as a child was the one where a nervy Chris called for Mary Beth to take her to hospital and the latter was calmly painting her nails. Another that stuck in my mind was the one where they were wedding-dress shopping for an unenthusiastic Chris. Another, was the one where Harv Jr introduced"Tiffany to the Laceys. When I re-watched them in recent years I watched out for those scenes.

The scene in 'Hooked' where Mary Beth and Chris are on a stakeout in a truck yard. They had a huge argument earlier in the episode, and Mary Beth was saying her '3' things to Chris.

Mary Beth .... 'And lastly number 3 ... keep your mouth off my family'

Christine ....'And you keep your mouth off mine'

A great scene, superbly acted.
