Clamshell VHS release of this with different cut???
I heard that there was a clamshell VHS release for this before Paramount started distributing their own films. In this version, the "R-Rating Producer" scene was in the beginning of the movie. Where the camera is moving toward the house and it's saying "Friday The 13th" and "Halloween" on the screen, right before it reaches the door, Michael Ritchie (the producer who went by Allen Smithee" jumps out and says the line about giving this movie and R rating and then jumps back out of frame. I was told they removed that scene after he took his name off of the film and they replaced it with the scene from the middle of the movie with the old dude sitting at the desk. Supossedly, from what I was told, there are two versions of the film: The original from the clamshell release and then the re-release VHS and the DVD. If anyone has any info on whether or not this is legit, I'd very much appreciate it. I asked him what company released the clamshell and he said he think it was EMI Thorn, but it was back in '81 and he rented it from a video shop, so he doesn't remember. If this is true and there is a super rare copy of a version where producer Michael Ritchie pops out and says what the old dude at the desk says, I'd kill to find it.
