I am a very big fan of Warren Beatty and I have really had trouble finding this movie on DVD. Maybe it's because I live in Denmark. Could that have something to do with it? I also have trouble finding it on the internet. Does anybody know where you can get it?
I just read on one store's website that it will be released in the U.S. on October 3, 2006. I tried to find out where I could buy it, since I get Netflix and had it on my list and it finally turned up, but I'm on a long waitlist at Netflix to rent it.
Do an internet search with keywords Reds dvd. Good luck!
I went around to a few video stores in LA looking to rent Reds and none of them have it- if you can't find a movie in LA, I don't know where you can find it (I wanted to rent it before deciding whether to buy it, since I've never seen it.)
The 25th Anniversary Edition was released in the UK (R2) a week or so ago. I bought my copy from play (www.play.com) but it's also available from Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk).

Is this still true as of the date of my post?? If so, then I have to assume there is some Corp.-political (or vice-versa) reason, as the DVD (Finally!!) debuted post-2001 (and we all know how things are so much better now than before...NOT!!) "Reds" is a *great* film, a meticulously detailed romantic epic that was undeservedly gyped out of the Best Picture AA (i.m.h.o.)...a fact as ridiulous as IMDb's "weighed average" ratings' system!
If the non-U.S. version is missing the extras -- primarily Beatty's on-camera comments re: the various aspects of the film and it's making, that's truly unfortunate! Who could have guessed (other than perhaps by his track record as a film producer) that such a 'pretty boy' (years past) had such an intellect!? A *very* interesting guy, Warren Beatty!
