Does Thora Birch play John Rubenstein's daughter in the film Ragtime?

No. She was born a year after the movie was released.

Plus John Rubinstein wasn't in the movie. He was in the Broadway show but not the film. I think you are thinking of Mandy Patinkin.

That's funny because I was watching this yesterday, wondered if this girl could be an actress now and suddenly thought of Thora Birch and noticed a bit ofa resemblance.

The little girl in Ragtime is actually the daughter of Mike Nichols, the director of Closer and The Graduate.

The little boy in Ragtime is Mike Nichols' son.
