I just bought the DVD, unaware there was a deleted scene in Ragtime. Jewish Anarchist and feminist Emma Goldman appears but was for some reason cut (most likely due to the nudity contained). Does anyone who has Ragtime know who was it portraying her? I looked at the cast, but she did not appear. Or mayby I just overlooked it.
shareThe scene was surely deleted due to lenght, not nudity. Elizabeth McGovern was completely nude in another scene that was left in the film. What I wonder was why the nudity in the delted scene fogged when the nudity in the other scene, obviously, isn't and shows a lot more than that. What did they think they were hiding?

Emma Goldman is played by Mariclare Costello. I once had a publicity photo of Costello in costume.
