Which is the better film? I'm probably one of the few that hasn't seen City of God but I heard Pixote was better---less stylish and more like a documentary. Is this the case?

City of God's an all-time great movie and I agree more stylish, but Pixote is more realistic and heartbreaking in a way, especially when you read about what happened to Fernando Ramos da Silva

Yes, da Silva's real-life story adds extra layers of poignancy to an already emotionally overwhelming story.
