Single Most Prophetic Scene - One With Cindy's Parents

This is what its like to try to get any response from my wife when she's on Facebook or Tweeting (or whatever) on her iPpad.

Just a byproduct of being miserable (married). She is probably talking to another guy or perhaps a few guys. Divorce her before she does it to you pal.

reply

Hey, just cuz that's what happened to you doesn't mean you should generalize.

reply

As I have never been married I would not know, but talking to many married friends, I seem to get a "GENERAL" idea.

Works with girlfriends/boyfriends too...unless you've never had one of them either, haw haw!

I found this scene confusing.

The point of the movie (outside of this scene) seemed to be the potential to use technology to tap into the subconscious as a means for selling products.

But this scene seemed to be making a comment on television's (the shows more than the commercials) capacity to turn people into morons.

Those aren't the same messages, and Crighton erred in confounding the two.

I think it's the same message. What Crichton says is: TV turns people into morons, whether there is some hypnosis device behind it or not. Only difference is that when there's an hypnotic device, there is a purpose.
