I read that this film includes a gay subplot. :) Being gay myself, I'm curious to know if the gay characters are a big part of the movie? Thanks! :)

Kind of, it is well handled and you feel like cheering when Pippin gets his man! Honestly this was a very honest approach to gays, not positive or negative just honest.

the entire film can be found for free at youtube. The gay character is great, quite a strong and sympathetic individual. Not a camp & mincing queen!

I'll have to check it out! :) it's really nice to see gay characters in movies who aren't negative, old-fashioned stereotypes. :)

You guys also forgot about Rocky - a beautiful yet tough lesbian who is very comfortable with who she is. Honestly, this movie really surprised me with its representation of LGBT characters as both normal people and accepted members of the group - this was way ahead of its time for 1981.

I love the part where Pippin gets his man (the fine strapping lad Punch):
"If we survive this, will you be my lover?"
"YESSSS!!!!"

i just about shut if off, so beyond bad that it couldn't even induce a chuckle
