Ron Perlman's hair vs. a samurai

For some reason Ron's hairtyle (knot) reminds me a lot of some samurai movie (apart from being much more wild)
First I thought it reminds me of The Last Samurai, but Tom Cruise does not have a knot.
The Twilight Samurai was my second guess, he doesn't have a knot either.
It could be some Akira Kurosawa movie

So which movie does it remind me of?
I swear I saw this recently, at least its burned into my brain.

I don't know, Sanjuro? Probably *some* Mifune character, anyway.

He actually reminded me of Ben Stiller in Zoolander when he had the black makeup on his face and was acting like a chimp. Made me LOL.
