I think it was the score that killed it for me. In a film where there should have been very little music, if any, it blasted you with overdramatic orchestra that kinda killed it. That's my opinion anyway. That and Rae Dawn Chong was so friggin' annoying, and the (pretty much) rape scene was just a bit disturbing and made me hate the character despite the fact that they don't know any better.
-- Cop: You can't just barge in here! David: Tell that to the writers.
The musical score was there for dramatic reasons. I thought that it was fitting to many scenes - hell the whole movie.
What did you find disturbing about the rape scene? What rape scene? They are caveman. Did not think they understood the meaning of NO means NO back then. It's all very primitive.
Well some parts of the score way over the top but I think for some parts, it really let the audience know the feeling of the characters being that the dialog was so limited. You kinda get wrapped up in it.
As far as the rape scene - I respect your opinion. I mean who would want to be grabbed up by some random caveman and violated. There are still a lot of them running around today. I see your point.
Rape?!!? She was on her back, masturbating! She rejected the sexual advances of Amoukar but when Naoh "mounted" her she didn't put up a fight at all. She got exactly what she wanted.
