Did troma distribute this in theatres for real! I didnt think troma movies ever made more than a few million at the box office. Not 23 million. If they did thats impressive

It was released by columbia pictures in the 80's.

What's with all the Troma stuff on the DVD. On the copy I rented you had to go through all this stupid un-funny Troma *beep* to actually get to the movie. Very annoying.

And it looks like Troma makes some really *beep* movies. Toxic Avenger? The Hall Monitor? WTF?

My Legacy Entertainment DVD hardly mentions Troma. Of course there's no special features, it's a VHS transfer, and only comes with a Legacy preview and many of their movie releases.

how is the legacy entertainment transfer? is the quality ok? i just picked it up on amazon for $20....

I think Troma somehow acquired the DVD rights after the copyright expired and Columbia didn't want to renew their license. I don't think they distributed a slasher film in the early eighties (they were too busy releasing sex comedies during their pre-Toxie days).

I wish Anchor Bay would have ended up with the rights. Troma's DVD's like the one for Mother's Day is full of Troma filler and there is not even a trailer for either Graduation Day and or Mother's Day on either DVD...let the rights expire and let a good company make a good DVD.

This was an IFI theatre release, not Columbia.

My old vhs copy in released by columbia pictures and when the movie logo come on before the movie starts its columbia pictures.

I saw this at the drive in when it came out in 81 its a columbia pictures release im 100% sure

they did help make Splatter High (though that was BEFORE they were troma... but Lloyd Kaufman and Micheal Hertz did produce it) I personally don't mind the troma stuff in the beginning but then again... i love troma

They did not help make Splatter High. Were involved with Splatter University at one point. I think they weren't too involved with the production of it, but things went wrong so Troma helped out old friend, director Richard Haines

Troma released this dog to DVD, along with another, "Beyond Evil," both of which were directed by Herb Freed incidentally (but maybe not coincidentally).
