Finally watched, WAY nicer looking than I expected.

yeah yeah we know its a crap movie, not going to deny that.
plot - bleah...
dialog - meh...
acting - ugh. what the script and director asked for, I guess.

that said...

I thought this all LOOKED astounding for being such a low budget, crap, B-movie. I sort of phased out the dialog/plot/acting and watched the sets, backgrounds, and some of the effects... pretty well done! Even the ship corridoors covered with McDonalds boxes was very passable.

Most designed were interesting and alienesque, and I totally see where Cameron ripped off a lot of it (and made it better) set design wise for ALIENS. Cameron worked on this also.

The matt paintings worked, the locations and walls in the set were interesting, sometimes intricate, it really felt a LOT like ALIENS to me.

Even the ending was a good ol sci-fi twist and not some crazy CGI fight with sky beams.

Overall, it was a neat, if not nostalgic watch. Sets and alien locations were cool... if not worthless for the plot, just nice sci-fi eye candy.

I was expecting much less. More like spray paint and duct tape and obvious old 80s gear repurposed as future ship tech.
