The infamous rape by giant worm scene is the key reason a lot of people remember this film at all.

It's the only reason I heard about this film back in 1999.
This movie deserves a straight to DVD remake. And I would recast Taaffe still or at the least put her in a cameo.
I was grossed out but also scored wood at the same time. Very confusing scene.
shareThe movie itself was bad. I just watched it for the slimy tentacle scene. After watching Taaffe O'Connel in the nude, that wasn't the only tentacle that got all slimy.
I haven't seen a good scene like that up until Ninja Gaiden's Rachel.
You've got to look beyond the surface, at the subtext. America's mostly unwanted incursion into Vietnam that ended less than ten years before this was filmed being represented as a giant, raping worm monster could be seen as quite fitting. A powerful analogy.
