I am almost positive I saw this movie in the theaters. I remember going to see it. But it came out when I was three. Now my memory is pretty good but it isn't THAT good. Did it come back to theaters in the late '80s sometime?

I saw the 1988 re-issue when i was 7 years old as i saw alot of movies in theaters in the 80's as a kid and i also remembered seeing the original theatrical release of Great Mouse Detective when i was 5 years old about 2 times, Oliver and Company 3 times when i was 7 years old and Little Mermaid when i was 8 years old.
