Not bad. Not great, but not bad

This is a middle-of-the-road Disney animal feature, nowhere near as great as some of the studio's classics, such as Lion King and Bambi, but not altogether a bad film.

The final battle and some of the chase sequences are interesting, as is the splendid courtship with a vixen who reminds me of Maid Marian from Disney's Robin Hood.

However, much of the childhood content is really quite dull.

Also, the plot is very basic and thin, with few surprises of any kind.

The theme is also a very simple one.

No real magic in this film, except perhaps for the final battle and the courtship scenes, but also nothing off-putting or annoying.

Passing grade, as Disney films go. I wouldn't say that it deserves to be obscure as it is, but it's also not quite at the Disney-classic level.
