Notice Copper's face on the cover. He doesn't seem impressed by the inclusion of the sequel either.

ABC, 123, that girl wore her jeans like me. I bet she's mad, 'cos I look fab. Hahaha, JACK MY SWAG.

haha im really not a fan of the disney sequels, the only one i honestly liked was the lion king 2. but aparat from that screw the double packs, i avoided the bambi one, all you need is the original...these films dont need sequels. well Black cauldron could have done with a sequel back in the day, not now.

At least they'll finally be releasing it in its original aspect ratio.

From 1937-1953, and again from 1961-1977, Disney's animated features were made in 1.37/1.33:1.
From 1977-2003, most of them were made in 1.66:1.
These days, ever since 2005, they've been made in 1.78:1.

There were a few exceptions, though. A couple of films The Black Cauldron and Atlantis: The Lost Empire were originally projected in 2.35:1. Some during this period were even originally in 1.85:1.

Sweet!
And I must admit to actually liking the sequel, if only for the new characters, music, and bright, smooth animation style.

It's kinda cool that they're combining the sequel with the old one. It helps for most of the disney fans if they miss out their chance in buying them separated the time the first film celebrated it's 25th anniversary back in 2006.

I just hope they won't go over it with all of the other original and sequels put together next time there's another Blu-Ray release.

looks like they dropped the ball with the blu ray release.....well done disney!

I just watched the DVD version of the new release (don't have a blu-ray player) and I thought it looked great. The colors were very sharp; I remember watching my old VHS and I was actually stunned by how good it looked now. They did some sort of restoration work between the 90's and now (I never got the last couple DVD releases). Not much in the way of extras. Too old for the sing-along of "Best of Friends" (although at least they didn't put a video of some stupid Disney channel star singing it). I enjoyed the brief segment on the old animators kind of using "The Fox and the Hound" as a transition project for the new guys. It was cool to see them talk about how terrified they were when they took over since they are so well-known/big successes now.

the sequel was beyond awful

I liked it, but wish it had been its own Singin' Strays-based film instead of a rather poorly-conceived and totally unnecessary "midquel." Having young Tod & Copper as the focus was just a way to get parents to buy it, because beloved characters as cute babies is always guaranteed to sell. :P
