Saddest part?
Maybe where the old granny had to drive Tod to the other woods and just leave him there, all alone in the rain and maybe never see him again? Tear-jerking!

When Tod gets dropped off in the woods. Especially that song that plays.
"Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's a memory
And there you'll always be."
And I always break down crying, even though I'm a grown man with a wife and three kids that just stare at me perplexed when we get to this part of the movie.
That part always gets me no matter how hard I fight!
shareWhen the fox is abandoned in the woods,And he couldnt survive on his own. I dunno what that crazy old bag was thinking, you cant domesticate a fox and then set it into the wild! She should have bought a gun and shot that hunter if he was barging into her home to kill her baby!

I watched the movie again and he was indeed a weirdo. What was his deal? I get that it's for the movie but I go back and question villians sometimes. I vote the bear should've eaten him haha

shareI agree with the scene that OP said. That part was extremely sad.
shareThe dropping in the woods seemed a coming of age moment...sad but necessary. The adult protection was ending. For me the ending was the saddest point. Everything comes together…leaving childhood behind…loss of innocence and ultimatly realizing the way the world is...preventing "us" from loving one another...the prejudice...the bias...the preconceptions we learn from our cultures and societies. In a cartoon tale we desire Todd and Copper to be friends forever but they were forced apart by powers beyond their control despite their love for one another. They must remain in separate worlds despite their own feelings. The happy Disney ending we want is not there.
shareBravo broemail - that was beautifully put.

You like completely broke down why Israel/Palestine can't get along. If only people like you ran governments around the world, we would all be more tolerant!

When the widow leaves him is of course the saddest, but I think it's also really sad whenever Tod and Copper are facing off, both circling each other and growling. In that moment it was hard to imagine that they were once best friends and completely sad to see all the anger and hate coming from them. Before the winter, they'd been having fun splashing in the pond and running around, but now Copper hated Tod and wanted to kill him, and Tod was willing to do the same to protect Vixie.
It's just the damp of the first spring rain; I do not believe this darkness will endure.
