Very little movie relates to the friendship

This movie is much more what happens after Todd leaves, so why do they make this movie focus on their friendship if it focuses very little on it. Also doesnt anyone wish this movie was longer

Yeah and more of Todd and Coppers friendship. It was such a little part of the movie and much more relates what happen when they're older

I don't think the movie should have been longer, it just should have cut out the scenes with Boomer and Dinkie and focused on Todd and Copper.

^^ This. Dinkie and Boomer were unnecessary and a little bit boring. I would have liked to have seen more scenes of Copper and Tod getting to know each other when they were young.

I think it's because most of us get the point. There's only so much a film needs to show of a fox and hound playing and chasing each other around. The montage summarized things beautifully. Unless you're suggesting that there should have been another subplot in which Copper and Tod went off and had some adventure together or did something else together that would serve as a crucial bond in their friendship. In such an instance, yes, the film would have to be longer. But I think for most of us it was just fine the way it was, with length and pacing serving as strengths. Go on much more, and a great film potentially gets bogged down with unnecessary details.

I think the film is less about how deep Tod and Copper's friendship goes, and more about how their childhood idealized their memories somewhat. Playing together was their happiest moment when they were younger. They eventually grew up pretty fast -- like most animals, come to think of it.

Sure, the movie would have been even better if it were even longer. But that is indeed the mark of a great movie: a movie which makes you crave the feeling of exhilaration you get from it.
