I wonder if this is true and when it will come out?

reply

Here is the response I got from BCI:

Hi Tony,

It will be release late summer.

We have the original negative, so we can only assume that it will be
uncut....and yes, we are doing a new transfer from the negative.

Best,

My VHS is worn out, so I can't wait for a DVD release. Yes, it's a horrible film, but I enjoy it nonetheless.

Ignoring isn't the same as ignorance, you have to work at it.

"Yes, it's a horrible film"

I don't think it's horrible at all.

Hey, this guy's not gonna leak all over my ice cream, is he?

BCI/Navarre is distributing. Code Red, who recently signed a dist. deal with BCI, seems to be the outfit doing the work. They have screenshots on their website.

So they have the original negative and it's going to be uncut? Is that UNCUT as in being the original theatrical release with not edits. Or UNCUT as in there were gore scenes cut out because of the Ratings Board (MPAA)?

There's some blood but it doesn't look real gory. The killings happen in the dark with barely any light to show close-up wounds. Just wondering.

I don't think that there is an uncut version of Final Exam out there - there may be deleted scenes but I can't see there being any extra gore. The movie is a fun slasher but there is very, very little on-screen blood. So if it's gore that you're looking for and you've never seen Final Exam, you most likely won't enjoy it. Otherwise, it's an underrated 80s slasher that definitely deserves the DVD treatment.

I absolutely love Final Exam. I'm a big fan of the dorm slashers. The Dorm That Dripped Blood also comes to mind.
