So the baby nazarene wasn't actually born...

...when Damien THOUGHT he was born?

I haven't read the book, yes, I know. Please enlighten me... just who is the nazarene then? in this movie, that is?

Please don't go seeking answers about the content of Omen IV, as that kind of curiosity could lead to you watching the film, and I wouldn't want to wish that on anybody.

Stay strong, resist temptation, and convince yourself that there were only ever 3 Omen films made.

(But yes, the focus of the film is a young girl).

I don't think I can stop myself if I tried :p

I gotta see for myself the mess they made of Part IV :D

Omen IV is not that bad!
Its a made-for-TV film, one should take that into account.

But the casting of Damien's daughter is excellent. She is truly creepy.

The film moves right along & has some quite scary scenes. The ending could have been better, but then I hated the way they portrayed the ending of Omen III!

Part 4 is better than I expected. Its worth a look, and has an interesting twist about Damien's family.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

What i didn't get was that Damien insisted on his aide, Dean killing his child as he was 'the only one born within the time frame' left. This would mean that Dean's kid was Christ- which he patently wasn't. So why drive Dean to revolt by insisting on him killing his own son? Then I remembered that Damien's dad was The devil and he probably got off on it..

OP, I saw a version where at the end

when Damien is roaming the ruined church in order to find and kill the newborn Christ-Child

where the soundtrack definitely had the sound of a squalling infant. It was as if they tried to extend the notion of Jesus-as-baby as late into the film as possible. I have not seen this particular version except that one time.

My interpretation was that possibly, the Christ-Child really had been born to Gypsies, thus making

what Damien sees at the climax a projected vision of Christ emanating from the Divine Child - the Spirit of Christ appearing even as the Child cries in the presumptive crib.

Seriously? Did you celebrate Christmas growing up? Jesus of Nazareth. Does that ring a bell?
