Please remake!
I really really do believe they could do this film and the first one 'The Gates of Hell' justice if they would remake them and actually make the whole trilogy.

Best reply to a post ever.
Sorry but with today's graphics & technology-they could remake this movie and make it right. Grant ya-I'm not in the least bit about remaking movies unless they are made right. Like I believe they remade the Wicker Man right. That's my opinion against thousands that don't think so!
But remakes can be done right if done the right way. Like the Halloween remake was done right compared to the Friday 13th remake that sucked!
the Wicker Man remake is a piece of *beep*
It's official, your opinion about movies is worthless.
Anyway, The Beyond is perfect. It doesn't need any modification. Fact. I'm sure that if they'd remake it they'd use CGI and it would look like crap.
Your opinion is invalid due to massive quantities of DERP. Please wear a helmet, to alert others of your state, so they don't get infected.
You can't argue with my logic! Well, you can, but I won't listen!

Ha Ha Ha!
shareWorst idea ever.
Btw, The Beyond doesn't have anything to do with The Gates Of Hell.
Roger that.
Get back to your Multiplex.

I never said it did have to do with Gates of Hell. Just it was supposed to be a trilogy set but the 3rd never got made from what I read.
share@ stratoculture: Shut up, idiot.
@ thread starter: What I meant is that Fulci didn't make The Beyond as a sequel to The Gates Of Hell. Hell, he even said that he didn't like when people said that the 2 movies were related. So he had no plan to make a trilogy.
The House by the Cemetary would be the third one you're thinking of, and it very much was made http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082966/.
Hell no to a remake though, they ALWAYS screw up remakes, they never have the same feel.
It's better to rest in the warm body of a friend, than in a cold hole in the ground.
"Sorry but with today's graphics & technology..."
All the graphics and technology in the world wouldn't be able to re-create the unique atmosphere Fulci and his crew managed to.
Don't think you meant to reply to my post. Where you aiming at the original poster? Either way, couldn't agree with you more Beyond72!

Sorry but I still think they could. I know what you are saying that it would be hard to beat the original masterpiece of The Beyond but.... I still think it could be done and right. Won't be the same but could be pulled off. And if it was a crappy remake then we'd be seeing it on the movie rental shelf next to The Witchboard movies. lol But seriously it could be remade to be descent enough to not land next to the horrid of the witchboard movies.

Yeah that's all we need is more crappy remakes, great idea numb nuts!

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm so glad that I got rick rolled! If there's a movie that I really don't want to be remade, it's this movie.
Anyway, this thread should die and the OP shouldn't be allowed to post here.
Yes, sure, let´s do a remake! Rate it PG-13, put Jessica Alba as the lead, and change the setting from Louisiana to a posh seaside resort full of stupid teens!
Have them escape the gates of hell in the end and have Emily wear glasses instead of being blind! WHOW! That would´ve been one of the most brilliant things EVER
The Beyond is a classic and should NEVER be remade.
The theater is like a faithful wife. The film is the great adventure, the costly, exacting mistress
This movie is SACRED!!!!! Don't touch it. You should never have watched it, it was to good for your eyes to behold!
I hate most IMDb message boards but I'd make an exception in saying that remaking this movie is retarded.
The sad part about all this is because there are studio executives who think like you. Masterpieces like this get remade and all the thunder from the original gets lost. Besides this movie is a cult favorite.
I believe I heard that Tarantino had something to do with the copyright to this film. Hopefully he will not sell it!!! TO ANYONE, I don't care what genius director it is LEAVE THIS MOVIE ALONE!!!
I think someone should remake La Terza Madre.
shareyou are probably right, however i cannot think of a cast nor a director that could pull it of as good or better than the original.
that type of horror just cannot be made anymore nowadays.
And if they would pick big names to do it it would probably get too much attention for its own good and end up being crap.
what made the originals (and most Italian horror movies) great was the lack of talent and money. Not saying that Italian actors were bad, they just never had big roles in those movies as opposed to...say "Dawn Of The Dead" which has tons of dialogue.
On another note, I think that this movie would be doomed right from the start if it would be done by an American. We do not need a fanboy like Rob Zombie who only steals from classic movies. What made the originals great was the fact that the directors knew how to scare. They grew up watching the classic horror movies from Universal and took elements from those movies to create a slow and dreadful atmosphere. American movies tend to have stupid Hardrock soundtracks or other fastpaced music put over fast-cut scenes.
Lucio Fulci had those awesome doomy moments, where you would see a zombie get up and see worms slowly ooze out of his eyes while a macabre little keyboard tune would be playing in the background. everything felt slow, dirty....rotting. That is something i see as being typically european of that era. American movies have always been faster, trying to exploit the shock effect instead of building it like an orgasm, if that makes sense.
They should leave the old movies as they are. To be able to recreate that atmosphere they would have to work hard on details. It is not worth it. I dont wanna see some wannabe director on MTV stating how he loves the movie just to release some crap remake that has nothing to do with the original.
On the other hand, how about they do a sequel? that way they could toy around with elements form the original movies without desecrating those.
What is with these morons on the IMDb, asking for every classic film to be remade?
My God ... if they're any indication of the next generation of "horror fans", we are fvcked.
"My stepfather tried to rape me ... and he's a werewolf."
Congratulations OP you win an award for "MOST RETARDED IDEA EVER"
shareI know on every thread about every classic horror film there is an idiot saying please remake this!!! It's disgusting as most remakes suck, especially the ones these days. The only good remakes I can think of were The Blob, Invasion of the body snatchers, Nosferatu, Night of the living dead and The Thing (which I do not really consider a remake as it's a lot more faithful to the story than the 51 film). These idiots asking for remakes are not horror fans.
shareI was pissed with what Zombie did with Halloween. The 1st of the remake wasn't too bad. I loved the whole bad boy part but the 2nd part of the remake sucked. He made the movie about a meal ticket for him and his wife and chopped the movie up so bad that I hope the next director just tosses Zombies and completely redo the Halloween movies. Anyone's has gotta be better than the trash he made.
