Argento rip-off, or homage?
In this film we have a dog, possessed evil spirits, turn on its owner and rip her throat out. The scene plays out in a very similar fashion to one in Argento's Suspiria.
I've always thought about this when seeing the film. Fulci and Argento are my two favorite Italian horror maestros, but I've never really seen any connection in their work. Does anyone have any idea if this scene was paying homage to Argento, or just blatantly ripping him off? It may have been a coincidence, though I really doubt it. Fulci MUST have seen Suspiria by 1980.
