Dragonslayer: The Abuse of Hodge... (spoilers)
Frankly, this old guy was the most fun of the characters and all the movie does with him is embarrass him, abuse him and finally kill him (FOR NO REASON). It gets duller without him straight away.

"I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?"
We got that already from the death of Master wizard. Killing Hodge made him look just cartoonishly dickish.
