This is still my favorite dragon

Even though there has been many dragons on film and TV this is still the best one. I think if they ever existed their wings would have been attached to their front legs like a bat. I think the dragon in Reign of Fire was like this too but wasn't as attractive. They seem to be portrayed more with four legs and wings.

I agree, Vermithrax is the best dragon on film.

When you consider that this film is over 30 years old, the dragon is even MORE remarkable. Still gives me the chills, just like it did when I first saw it in the theater......

This dragon has "aged" nicely. Still looks better than some of the ones you see today. I prefer the dragon in Sucker Punch.

Yep, still NUMERO UNO (Sorry Smaug).

Jake, My Jake!

Same. VP is what happens when you push your effects to the limit in an awesome and I guess tasteful way. For whatever reason, holds up excellently!

Totally agree, it was amazing to see it on the big screen back in 1981, and I recently watched it in HD...still looked incredible. You can tell they put a lot work into the practical effects back then.

I agree. Still the best depiction of a dragon in a movie. Amazing when you consider this movie came out in 1981.

The special effects have aged nicely. Loved this back in 1981. It was an actually scary dragon.

However, Drogon and his siblings are THE best dragons, on Game of Thrones.

Followed closely by the dragons in Reign of Fire. Though I do admit, the dragons in Reign of Fire, are pretty much carbon copies of the one in Dragonslayer.
