Version on Netflix - Question...

Is this version on Netflix the original version or some kind of altered version? For one, the quality looks very clear, that's why I'm wondering.

The only part I didn't like much was the ending where they are fighting the dragon against the sky. You can tell by the outline of the people that they weren't really there physically. They were cutouts basically put on top of a mountain top and a fake sky.

So I'm wondering, was this always the ending? Exactly this way? Cause I read that some people thought the movie was too dark near the end. Maybe if it was darker you wouldn't notice the obvious fake backdrop.

When film is transferred to either tape or digital, the transfer projectors often pump more light through the film than is intended. The result is that you see all the things that were meant to be hidden by the theatrical projection process.

The most famous one is the black animation on the Emperor in Return of the Jedi as he sits on his throne. There's tons of examples.

There's a restored version some guy did himself on the bay that's pretty impressive. It's uncut, looks amazing and sounds great. He was able improve the resolution considerably. If you're a fan you have to check it out. He put a lot of work into it.

Restored this movie? I would love to see it. How do I find it?

Yeah how did this "fan" end up restoring the film?
