And didn't it speak, or something?

I last saw this movie back in the 1990s and don't remember too much about most of it, but the owl stood out to me. I just find it was a shame for the recent remake (in the last ten years) to have the main character pick it up, look at it disdainfully and then chuck it away to ridicule it. I thought it was quite beautiful as a prop.

Athena was ordered by Zeus to give her pet owl to Perseus. She refused and created the mechanical owl as a substitute. Only Perseus could understand the owl's clicks and chirps as legible.

And yes, it was quite insulting what they did to him in the remake. That pissed me the fuck off. Brought the movie down a couple of points for me.
