Anyone else remember the ferry ride back in theaters?

On the DVD after Perseus collects Medusa's head, he walks out with the head in his cloak all tied us raised in the air. Flashback to Zeus' orders, lightning, & the head is all tied up at the campsite waiting for Calibos to stab at it.

When it came out in theaters, my family was on vacation.
RV'ing up California to Victoria British Columbia Canada & back.

I remember Perseus coming back to Charon the boatman, & after requesting another coin, Perseus knocks him down, & guides the boat back himself.

Anyone else remember this?

For some reason that does resonate in my memory but then again I'm super-imaginative and a writer so it's also possible I'm visualizing it based on your description. I'd like to know if anyone else remembers this too!

reply

No, but I have only seen it on tv. I just watched the version shown on TCM and it doesn't have a scene like this. I would be interested to know if this was cut out of theatrical versions for some reason.

I'm almost positive that Perseus would NOT have been disrespectful to the ferryman. Also, we saw them ferry over to Medusa's lair, we don't need to see the round trip. No, this scene never existed.

reply

He paid for a round trip so the Ferryman would not have asked for another coin.

I saw COTT at the theater but don’t remember this scene. I do know a similar scene happened in the comic-book version though, which I owned—and wish I still did.

reply

There's no scene like that on the DVD.
