Das Boot-Uncut Version on Blu-Ray?

Am I correct that the uncut, 290 minute, version of Das Boot has only been released on standard DVD and that to date there has not been a Blu-Ray release of the uncut version?

I'm asking this question because I have only been able to find a Blu-Ray version of the film in the "Director's Cut" version. I would like to see the difference in quality between the original release and a Blu-Ray version of the film. However, after viewing the "uncut" version of the film, I think I would be let down with viewing the cuts in the "Director's Cut" version.

Any thoughts on this from owners of the Blu-Ray version of the film?

The full 5 hour mini-series version is being released on Blu-ray in Germany later this year, with UK and US editions to follow next year.

I'm halfway through watching the German Blu-ray. It looks and sounds great. It has German and English soundtracks and English subtitles.

Why not just ordering it directly from Amazon Germany?
You might have to expect delays on deliveries though, since you never know when their workers goes on strike, which is something they usually do at this time of year.

Not a German, just tried having to wait longer for shipments my self this time of year when ordering there, due to the workers being on strike.

Where do people get the 290 minutes run time from?

I have the Original Uncut Version, and even on retail sites (one I even bought it from!) it says on there (and back of box) it is 4 Hours and 42 Minutes Long. Which is 282 minutes long.

In the UK does the Original Uncut Version just have nine minutes cut out or something?

But yeah a Blu-Ray would be great. Hell, I want the most extended version possible.
