filming locations

I was the wardrobe mistress on this film. It was filmed in Park City Utah. The mine scenes were actually filmed in 3 locations. Park City has changed a lot since the filming so the locations may not exist any more and I don't recall the actual names of 2 of the locations but in general: Exteriors were filmed outside a "mine" opening located on the South east end of town. It was not an functioning mine and we only went in a few yards, I think it was on city property. Most of the interiors were filmed on a sound stage build in a building that had been a grocery store just north of the city park. The underground lake was build in the set and was smaller than it appeared on screen. During the filming of the scene with the "explosion" the set caught on fire and the building was burned to the ground so additional scenes were filmed in a working mine on the north west side of town.
The interior of the "house" was also a sound stage in a building on Main Street. Last time I was in Park City (1998) the building had been converted into businesses. The exterior of the house was also a set, part of a whole "western town" build just outside of Heber City, Utah. The area has since be flooded to create the Jordanell Reservoir.
