Confused! Two Questions!

I just watched this again after several years and enjoyed it. Two things I do not understand if someone could help me clear it up; First when Matty met Ned at the concert in the park for the very first time was that planned? I mean did Matty at that time know Ned was a lawyer that messed up a will in the past? I cannot believe that was a planned thing at the concert it seemed so random. OR did Matty find out later in their affair about that mistake he made with another persons will and just used it to her advantage, I guess what I am asking is did she plan that meeting with Ned at the concert? OR just find about about the will later?

Also at the end HOW did she get away so quick? Unless she had another car hidden, it did not make sense how she got away after the explosion at the boathouse, I mean they were surrounded by water, it would not of been easy. If anyone knows these two things I would appreciate it. Thanks.

i dont think u ever really know. if u look at what it said at the bottom of her her yearbook photo at the very end, she was on the swimming team in high school. maybe she swam way in the water. btw did u just watch it on hbo?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I just watched it on HBO, they finally showed a good movie! That is probably what happened her being on the swim team she swam and had a back-up plan of sorts, it makes sense.

Even if she did swim I mean the cops were all over that place they would of noticed some dripping wet woman walking down the street, she must of had a backup car parked some place, the woman was not stupid she had some plan.

I just dont understand the first meeting at the concert, did she follow Ned from his apartment to the concert? I mean that is really bizzare, what are the chances she would meet him and he would turn out to be what he was, a kind of shady lawyer that messed up a will and that would benefit her in the future.

That is what I do not understand did she follow and stalk Ned to meet him in the first place OR was it just a coincidence that that happened, I find that really unreal almost like thats a real lucky break for her! That is confusing.

Of course she monitered him. The guy at the bar told Ned HE gave Neds name to Matty over a year ago.I also believe Matty had a car or boat waiting to make her escape after she blew up the boat house, she was an excellant swimmer.

Yes its totally believable she had a car or boat and money stashed away just in case she had to make a "get-a-way" or had someone help her, I can see that.

It amazes me she "met" Ned Racine at that outdoor concert?! I mean if that was planned, which it seems like it was, she had to literally follow him from his apartment and walk past him at preciously the right moment! Wow is she good!

And then the way she took off after he went to the bathroom, how did she KNOW he would go looking for her all over town and finally find her in that remote bar? Why did she do that? To play "hard to get" so he would not suspect a thing? and the coy way she asked him to leave after seeing the chimes, wow!

Everything just fell right into place so neatly for her, its almost unbelievable, through I understand its hollywood and just a movie. She took a big chance on Racine and it worked! I swear ice water flowed thru her veins!

We don't know that Ned Racine was the only lawyer she was fishing for.

She might have had a list of a dozen or more shady lawyers and frequented places where they could be found. Perhaps Ned was the first fish to bite, or perhaps his actions proved him to be the easiest mark.

I think she was *testing * him. she already told him her name,where she lived, she owned a home and hinted she was unhappy. She knew if he looked her up after she ditched him he was very interested and she could use him. She wasn't hard to find, in the scene where he finds her in the bar and she asked him how he found her ,he reply's, 'It's the only joint in town".
