Maybe this has been discussed before?

When "Body Heat" came out, I remember reading that Hurt, Turner and Kasdan made a pact never to do a sequel to this film.

Considering all the schlock that gets sequelized by Hollywood, I wish they would reconsider. This film would be an excellent one to follow up on. The plot lends itself perfectly to a sequel: Ned finally gets out of prison and tracks down Matty. Hurt and Turner are both alive and have aged well. They are both incredible actors. It could be a fabulous story.

Anyone agree?

They already did a sequel. Ned dies in prison and is reincarnated as a boring travel writer; Matty's reincarnated as his even more boring wife. It's their karmaic punisahment for their evil former lives.

Hurt could pull it off with a tan, a toupe and stash he still looks pretty good , but Turner is way to old looking and to fat.Turner doesn't even resemble the Matty character anymore.

Maddie doesn't have to be hot anymore. Her looks could have hardened...his too. It wouldn't be a love story, it would be a revenge story.

I haven't seen her recently but if it's just that she aged badly, I don't think that would matter. It would just seem like life gave her what she deserved. Maybe he starts off bent on revenge but it turns to pity...

doesn't really work though, the film's main themes were sexuality and lust, to turn it into a revenge story just doesn't cut it and yes MATTIE HAS TO Be hot-it's a femme fatale charaCTER remember, it just wouldn't have the same effect without it.
