Furillo/Davenport relationship
I was very young when this was on, and currently only have access to the first two seasons. Was Frank and Joyce's relationship ever exposed to the public, or at least anyone in the station?

shareyes, Frank and Joyce actually got married (either season 3 or 4) - and are open about it with everyone.
shareIt got exposed in the 2nd season, when Davenport walked into Furillo office and planted a big sloppy wet one on him. In the 3rd season they got married during their lunch hours by a Justice of the Peace.
BTW, Joyce kept her maiden name through out the shows run.
Women. Can't live them, pass the beer nuts.
Thanks. I've owned Season 2 since it came out 8 years ago and am just now watching it. Love the Norm quote, cind5.
shareInteresting comparison...I think Joyce's schtick was that she was a total Ice Queen, whereas Erin seems a little more humane. Joyce was certainly a forerunner for Erin though.
Awight we're The Daamned we're a punk baand and this is called Carn't Be Appy T'day!

Did you not watch the show? Or is it that you don't know what "frigid" means? She was hardly that. As for being a bitch, she was a very intelligent, tough, aggressive defense attorney, exactly what she needed to be. I envied the Pizza Man.
shareI use to date a coworker EXACTLY like Joyce. She was smart, prim, proper, great at her job and great looking. And a TIGER in bed!!!
Keith Moon was the greatest 'Keith Moon Style' drummer ever!!share
I would think that there would be a policy in place that would prohibit such a relationship.
Like she could offer him sexual favors, or withhold sex, to let any of her clients go or to reduce charges.
Or he could do the same for her to plead guilty for a client.
Just way too tempting for some type of corruption on either side for a couple like that.
I concur
shareDefinitely - it would be a huge "conflict of interest", with skells in court (or their shyster lawyers) making allegations of pillow talk and horse trading. It was a bit of poetic licence - keeping everything in house.
shareAlso, can you imagine the skells sitting there "in interrogation" when in to represent them, save them from the death penalty comes...the Captain's wife! THEY'D see it as a conflict of interest too. No matter that she had a reputation for being a badass, bawling the cops out and sticking up for the baddies, there'd always be that suspicion that her husband's job, promotion etc, which pays her mortgage and keeps her in fancy threads, takes precedence over saving them from the needle!
