Smoke

A scene I remember more than most was when Frank was lunching in a restaurant and a guy on the next table insisted on smoking a large cigar. Frank eventually snatches it and dunks it in a glass of water, throwing some cash on the table to pay for the cigar before storming out. He was a little fraught anyway - he was having a heated conversation, I think with Fay.

To think that smoking in a RESTAURANT was acceptable then is incredible. I remember not that long ago attending a function where a friend politely asked if everyone had finished eating before lighting up!

Thinking about it, I believe the smoking in HSB started to recede towards the end - I'm re-watch S6 at the moment and it doesn't seem as noticeable.

Why did Travanti want to quit the show??

I wasn't aware that he did, but I would guess at not wanting to be typecast or similar. Somebody here will know.
