Five US running order - season two

Good morning, all !

For my good friend filmsRreel, and anyone else who would like to know, the running order for the Five US showing of season two here in the UK, so far, is:

Bail and Bond
The Ives Have It
Colt Breaks Out - Part One
Colt Breaks Out - Part Two
Mighty Myron
Reluctant Travelling Companion
A Piece of Cake
Hell On Wheels
How Do I Kill Thee ? Let Me Count The Ways
Win One For The Gipper
Happy Trails
Manhunter
Further Adventures of Ozzie and Harold
Death Boat
Eight Ball
Spaced Out
Strange Bedfellows
The Molly Sue
100 Miles A Gallon
PS I Love You

Tonight's episode, for Sunday 26 August, is listed as The Chameleon. Five US will then repeat The Molly Sue, 100 Miles A Gallon, PS I Love You and The Chameleon during this coming week.

The week after that will see Five US showing the final two episodes for season two, which are The Chase and Just A Small Circle of Friends. They will then start showing season three, which I'll do a separate thread for.

Hope that helps !

Have a good day !

:o)

That helps a LOT, Annie and thanks for taking the time to post that list. Yes, they are running the episodes in the order in which they originally aired as opposed to the episode order in which the shows were filmed.

Below is a season two episode guide that has been on the net since 1995 that seems to list the episodes in production order. I'm attempting to compile a list of episodes in production order. Sometimes a TV station will air episodes of a series in the filmed order. Back in 1996 here in Atlanta, GA USA, a local station WVEU TV 69 ran "The Fugitive" in production order instead of the network aired order. The networks air episodes in order of completion in terms of music, special effects, etc. If you watch the classic 1960's "Star Trek" in production order you can see the show evolve much better than if you view them the way they originally aired. I really noticed a big difference with "The Fugitive" since in production order, there is far greater story and character continuity. I suspect that the same will be true with "The Fall Guy" since the cast seemed to loosen up and become a working family as the series progressed, and I'd like to watch this evolution in proper order.

Thanks again, Annie for the list!

Here is what MAY be the season two production order(unconfirmed at this point in my research):

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Fall Guy -- Season 2 (Terri is bailbondswoman)

2-1 WIN ONE FOR THE GIPPER 1/5/83

(IT MAKES SENSE THAT "WIN ONE FOR THE GIPPER" would have been filmed first since American Football season begins in September. The episode did not air until January 5th, 1983 basically when pro and college ball is over for the season and in the story, the season had not yet begun, so I am inclined to believe that this episode guide is genuinely presented in the actual order that the episodes were shot)

My pleasure, my friend, glad it's been of help !

I know I started to list them in your "I miss Doug Barr" thread, but then I thought it would be easier just to post the updated list on a separate thread. I'll do the same for season three once it starts.

Hm, interesting to see the difference between the two running orders. And, by the way, you've set me quite a challenge, too - once I've got all this season on tape, I'm going to watch them in your production order.

Yes, a real hardship, I know, but... well, someone has to do it !!

Annie,

Speaking of "The Molly Sue", I really enjoy that episode. Colt's thorn in his side Kay Faulkner was supposed to return in that one, but Judith Chapman was not available for whatever reason, so they wrote her "co-worker" into the script replacing Faulkner. Robert Davi(the villain in the James Bond film "License to Kill") made his first appearance in "The Fall Guy" here(he was also in the season four episode "Dead Bounty"). What is unique is that some of the bad guys are actually KILLED for a change! Check out the wicked helicopter chase scene where Ace uses his piloting skill to outmaneuver and permanently take out the thugs who are shooting at our heroes in the plane from their choppers! There were other episode where the antogonists actually deservedly die, but this is one of the best examples.

I also love how Ace refuses to give up as he tries to romance "Miss Stacy." Howie was great with his enthusiastic praise and spirited admiration of Ace.

Man, I had a tought time locating this episode on film for my film collection of episodes. I found a print of "The Molly Sue" just over a year ago thanks to a fellow "Fall Guy" fan and film collector in Germany. This person had already sold the print to someone else in Germany and he gave me the email of the dude who had purchased the print from him. I contacted the guy and we made a deal. I was extremely lucky to locate this episode and I treasure this film print a bit more than many others in my library since it was such a challenge to find it. All I need now are a few 5th season episodes and one more episode from the first year and I'll have the entire series on film as well as a rare unaired version of the pilot movie with Janet Leigh in which Lee Majors does NOT sing the iconic theme song. Right now I have all of season 2,3 and 4 on fujicolor LPP no fade 16mm film. Film is fun since you can pipe the sound through stereo speakers for HUGE movie theater sound(explosions and crashes sound INCREDIBLE), project the image larger than life and screen the episode(s)
OUTDOORS like a drive-in for the neighbors!

That is SO STRANGE that season 3,4 and 5 are not going to air(if what you claim is correct). Years 3,4 and 5 of "The Fall Guy" had some of the best moments in the entire series! What gives?

reply

I, too, sincerely hope they show the remaining seasons. I was peeved when they decided not to continue on from season 2 onwards.

Watching season 2, I noticed the show started becoming more interesting and more and more action-packed. I watched the episode with Priscilla Presley which features that excellent pre-credits car stunt.

I have fond memories of the later seasons (1983-86) and there were some episodes that were quite harrowing, such as the one in which Howie and Jody are both injured after a sniper shoots out their tyre. Douglas Barr's acting was convincing in this one.

I would also love to see the treasure hunt ep with Dick Lynch as the villain (of course).
