Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk on The Fall Guy?

Today I just read on the imdb board for TIH that big Lou Ferrigno
appeared as the Hulk on "The Fall Guy," could anyone please
clarify this for me? If this is true in which season and what is
the title of that episode? I just don't recall ever seeing
the Hulk on that series with Lee Majors.

Yep, from Season One, Episode 9 - 'Licence To Kill' (Part 1). It's available on the recent dvd.

Colt appears on "The Incredible Hulk". He plays a gangster type who's roughing up Jody and Lou Ferrigno bursts into the room and gives Colt a bashing.
The scene ends with Colt out cold and Ferrigno concerned that he hurt him.

It's not very long, nothing more than a cameo really.
Apparently he appears a few more times during the show.

Hello peteg1969 and thanks for your answer to my question, both the
"Fall Guy" and "The Incredible Hulk" are two of my favorite
classic tv shows!

Also a little more information for you tbird-1 is that Lou Forrigno also starred in a very short lived spin off from The Fall Guy called Emergency. I loved the show and do not know why it did not last very long.

All I remember is that Howie was doing a stunt and it was a stunt that almost kills him. I remember Colt calling Howies mom to let her know that her son was in a major accident doing a stunt.

Howie turns out all right because it was a cliff hanger of a two hour show and loved it! I then started to watch the show due to Lou Forrigno who I loved playing The Incredible Hulk when I was a kid.

I just thought that I would let you know about this.

Hello RobBase086-1, I looked up Lou Ferrigno's acting credits and
found he appeared in a medical drama called Trauma Center back
in October 1983. His character was an ambulance attendant named
John Six. I do vaguely recall watching the show nearly 25 years
ago! My mother was a pediatric nurse at the time and we would
watch it together and my mom liked it very much and she told me
how it was very realistic and a great show. John Six drove the
patients to the big city hospital's trauma center and he was
partnered with another person, don't recall whom. By the way
'Emergency' is a classic tv medical drama that aired on NBC-TV
from 1972-79 and it starred Randolph Mantooth & Kevin Tighe
as Los Angeles County Fire Dept. paramedics Johnny Gage and
Roy DeSoto. It was actually a spinoff from Adam-12 and I
used to watch both tv shows. Do you recall where Trauma Center
was set?
Thanks for the update about Lou Ferrigno from a longime fan.

reply

tbirdman-1, Sorry if I messed up on the name of the TV show but like you said when Trauma Center aired it was 25 years ago and I had forgotten the name of the show. That is how long since I have seen the show and it has never been reaired again since it was canceled. I thought Trauma Center was a very good show to watch. COOL That your mom was a pediatric nurse and you both watched together the show. I remembered that he worked for a hospital but I did not remember all of the facts about it. I do remember watching Emergency when I was a kid. I loved that show a lot. Where are these classics at and why are they not showing them anymore?

You are welcome on the update about Lou Ferrigno. I felt it was important because you were a fan of his so I wanted to give you some tid bit of information you know.

Hey RobBase086-1 and thanks for your very kind comments and the
fact that you also used to watch Emergency. I know that the
first season is available on dvd and I don't know about season
2 or later ones. I have bought season 1 of Adam-12 and am
looking to get the 2nd one if it has been released. There was
also a reunion tv movie for the cast of the medical drama
called "The Greatest Rescues Of Emergency." IMBD lists it
from 1978 and it showed how Gage and DeSoto were both promoted
to captain in the department. Showing past clips from previous
seasons of the series and the two paramedics realized that
they would no longer be partners and would not work together
in the same firehouse any longer. I don't think it is out on
dvd at all. Did you know that Lou Ferrigno is now a reserve
deputy sheriff for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department?
He was sworn in back in 2006 and is working a minimum of 20
hours a month recruiting and working with youth groups. I have
seen the news clip online and on tv when he became official.

Take care,

LorenzoSunnyFlorida

Hey thanks for all of that vital information tbirdman-1! I appreciate that a lot and will have to look into getting the DVD box set to watch Emergency. Yeah I knew that Lou Ferrigno is now a reserve deputy sheriff in Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.

Have you seen him in Hell Comes To Frogtown II? I know it is a very low grade B movie but Lou Ferrigno had a very small part in that movie.

The only problem with the crossing over is that The Incredible Hulk was on CBS while The Fall Guy was on ABC. It did help out for each show but not for the networks though.

Yes they were on different networks because I remembered back in 1978 when The Dukes Of Hazzard started in the late 70's my parents would watch the local news and then I would watch The Incredible Hulk. After The Incredible Hulk was The Dukes Of Hazzard.

I am not sure on how they arranged that at all unless they were on the same studio lot which made it easy for Lou Ferrigno to make an appearance because I have seen that before or heard about it.

I know that they created a spin-off to The Fall Guy which also starred Lou Ferrigno but I cannot remember the name of it though.

The spin-off only lasted for one season and that was it. The way the studio was built it must have been on the same lot for him to make an appearance. That is the only way that I coul figure that out because I know that there is no way that CBS would allow their main star to be on ABC or the other way around you know.

Yes The Dukes Of Hazzard was a cool show to watch. I bet that website was pretty cool. I do not think that it crossed over to any other shows. None that I can remember off hand.

I am not sure as to why the spin-off did not do so well because it looked interesting to watch when I saw that Howie got hurt and they showed the leading support for the new show. It looked very good but you know how people are they do not know what is good because they would rather watch something that is really stupid and keep that on instead of a good show that makes sense.

I have noticed this for years on TV ever since I was old enough to start watching it. There will be some great shows on and instead people want to watch something very stupid. That does not make any sense to me at all. Thanks for the website! I appreciate that and will check it out.

To be honest with you I did not care for The Dukes Of Hazzard movie and was pissed about it. They should have had Jessica Simpson dye her hair to be a brunette which is what Catherine Bach was and not a blond at all. They made all of the characters look like idiots to be honest with you and I did not care for a tall and slender Boss Hogg. I would have preferred a short and chubby Boss Hogg like the original with a bald head as well. It was nothing like the show at all guy! That is why I felt that they should have had John Schnieder, Caherine Bach, Tom Wopat, and the rest of the cast and crew make this movie.

Then I think it would have went along the lines of how the show was originally done. Yeah I have seen the Charlie's Angels movies and did not like them that much to be honest with you. That is why I hate remakes! Now Get Smart was done very well and I liked it.

See they were smart they asked the creators of the show to work on the film Get Smart and it turned out great because it paid tribute to the original show but had its own ideas though that made it a modern day Get Smart with the same ideas of the original show. Now I liked that man. Have you seen it yet?

Trust me you will like the Get Smart movie. It is really good and hilarious to watch. I watched that show as a kid in the 70's and a part of the early 80's. Yes it was done correctly with the original people who worked on the show. I am totally glad that they did that and that is what other people should do if they want to make a remake out of a TV show. Yes the actors do resemble the original actors. Which was a very good thing.

Yes it was stupid to have a blonde Daisy for the movie instead of a brunette. I know I agree that they did make the characters seem stupid. I do not know why they wanted to do that for but that is how the writers saw it and wrote the movie that way and the director has to tak a part of the blame as well for the movie.

I know what you mean about the Charlie's Angels movie but you have to blame Drew Barrymore for that because her production company picked it up and wanted to make it into a film you know. I know todays programming for TV is just awful that is why I hate it.

Yes it was her production company who got the rights to make the show into a movie. What I do not understand is why could they not have set it up during the 70's? I mean how hard is it to do that?

I know that if I was working on a movie and I was taking it from a TV show what I would do is look over the TV show and if a set had to be built to look like the time the show was filmed then I would do it like that. Have all of the actors dress in the style of the show as well. It would make it look more creditable that way than the way that they did it you know.

Yes The Dukes Of Hazzard was stupid to watch! I am a major fan of the show because I was 6 years old when the show came on in 1978 or 1979 and I would watch it every Friday night when it came on! I never missed a show at all. Yeah that is all I heard about 3 years ago was about Jessica Simpson playing Daisy Duke in the movie. I think that if she would have been a brunette she would have been perfect as Daisy but they allowed her to stay blonde. Boss Hogg I would have to say be aroun my height possibly a little taller than me and if you ever noticed on the show it was a body suit that he was wearing to make himself look over weight. I did not realize that til I got older because I always thought he was over weight as a kid.

Burt Reynolds was not perfect to play the role as Boss Hogg at all. They even screwed up on Roscoe as well because I was expecting the actor to do impersinations of Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane but instead they did not even have the actor do that at all. Yes that is all they care about is todays generation and that is it. It is their way of trying to appeal to them that is if they can do that. I have noticed personally myself that they have cut down in making rated R movies. Instead now they make more PG-13 movies to squeeze in the teeny boppers into the movie houses. During the 80's and 90's they would have more R rated movies come out than the PG-13 movies.

Yes trust me you will like Get Smart. That is good that you liked it as a kid. Well it was worked on by the new crew of Get Smart and the old crew of the show. Which was a very good thing because they did a fantastic job on that movie. I do not know why they cannot make movies like that. I guess a lot of these writers and directors fear that if they copy too much from the original show then it would not look new at all. See here is the thing about Get Smart even though the Cold War ended during the late 60's or early 70's this movie somewhat tied that in with current events which I liked about what they did with the movie.

That is what you are suppose to do is tie in how the original show was made but make it a little of the present as well. It does not hurt to do that at all. My way of remaking a TV show is this. If I was the writer or the director I would have been sitting down watching these TV shows and taking notes for the movie. Saying ok if Daisy Duke is a brunette we have to find a woman with sex appeal like her. I would try to make it to where the original fans who loved the show will love the movie. You take notes on it and that is how it should be done in my opinion.

I always thought she was very attractive when I first saw her. Her playing Daisy Duke no way at all. She did not fit the role at all. I agree that they should have had a brunette play the role in the movie. Yes that actor that they selected to play Roscoe was awful! I was sort of looking forward to that when I went to the movies to see The Dukes Of Hazzard. I did not have to pay for the movie because it was free. When I bought the third season of The Dukes Of Hazzard they had special coupon to go see it for free so I went. I also liked the Roscoe on the show as well because he was so funny when I watched the show as a kid.

In the movie they had him play a more serious role in the film which I did not care for at all. That is why I was not a real big fan of this movie at all. Well if you watch the DVD box sets it mentions about it in there with the interviews with John Schnieder, Tom Wopat, and Catherine Bach about Sorrel Booke playing Boss Hogg. Well it was a body suit because you can sort of tell when he runs or sits down. If you look at the horror movies today they are all rated PG-13 unless it is a violent film like Hostel, SAW, or some of the other horror movies that they make today. The movie industry wants to fill up the movie houses for the teenyboppers to go or for the parents to take the teenagers to go see the movies.

Yes they do make them for them to enjoy and watch for some reason but it is all demographics though. They know that the teenagers are going to spend more money to go see a movie rather than adults unless it is really good to watch and see. It is a huge insult and I agree because I still like movies that show some skin you know a flash here or there you know. I am not saying going to a soft porn but a little is nice to see in a movie. Well if they make the movies R rated then it limits the teenagers from going unless their mom or dads take them to go see that movie. Like I told you they want to make money and if they restrict the younger viewing audience then they will not make any money at all on that film.

I agree with you there that these movies should be directed at the fans of the show and not just everyone and everybody to see because it alters the element of the show to cater to everyone else. I am not sure why they do not make or set the movies for the time of when the show was originally done. I understand some things they need to modernize it but not the whole thing though. I do not know why they did not name them after the original Angels from Charlie's Angels. Ask that to Drew Barrymore. She could give you a good reason as to why. I am surprised that you are 22 and do not like these movies because it fits along your age demographics to be honest with you. Well actually the Get Smart is made in current events even though they do talk about the Cold War though. It is really good and you will like it.

No I do not know how Farah Fawcett felt about the movie Charlie's Angel. I did not hear about that.

That is unique to find someone who is within that age group who does not like movies like what they are showing now. There are not too many people like you out there you know. Yes I agree with you that Drew Barrymore should have set the movie for the 70's and not in the late 90's or early 00's. She should have used the names from the TV show but decided not to I guess.

Yeah I was glad that I did not have to pay to see it at all. The only thing it costed me was a soda though to drink. Well if you like that song "These Boots Are Made For Walking" Then you should hear the original version of the song sang by Nancy Sinatra. I hate to say it but Jessica Simpson just remade that song guy.

That is good that you like R rated movies with a little flash here and there. A little nudity never hurt you at all. I agree with you there that if it is used in the right way then it will work but if not then it ay not work at all. Yeah it was great to see her in the sequel Jaclyn Smith in the movie.

Yes a blonde Daisy Duke was stupid but that is what they chose for the movie though and there is nothing that we can do about it. Yes that is what they should have had her do was dye her hair for the movie. Yes Boss Hogg and Roscoe was awful to see and watch!

That is cool that you posed on The A-TEAM movie board what a awful idea it was for them to do. Have you had anyone respond back to you yet on that? Just wondering because I would love to hear their opinions on that.

Yeah some of todays movies are not too bad but then there are others you do not want to even waste your time with in watching. Like I just watched Disaster movie a few weeks ago or almost a month ago and I thought that movie was awful!

I just watched Vegas Bachelor Party and that was awful as well! Some nudity is not that bad in a movie like you said it all depends on how it is done in the film. Yeah The Dukes Of Hazzard movie was just awful to watch! That is good that Jaclyn Smith looked great in her cameo appearance in the movie.

That is shocking that you have not received any response on The A-TEAM post yet.

Yep,there seems to have been many crossovers in early 80s TV. Another episode saw Tom Selleck, pull up in the Ferrari he drove in "Magnum, P.I." wearing his trademark Hawaiian shirt and baseball cap, where he and Colt say a quick hi to each other. Since Colt acknowledges Selleck with "Hey Tom!" it's not entirely clear whether it is Magnum, or Selleck himself, that Colt is talking to (these shows tended to pose confusing situations!) :-)

Interesting post and I never saw that "Fall Guy" episode with
Tom Selleck. Would you happen to know the title and in which
season it was shown? I do recall a crossover with "Magnum PI"
and "Simon And Simon," the storyline started with Selleck's
series then continued with the pi brothers visiting Hawaii to
solve their case with the assistance of Magnum himself. This
was the only crossover between both series.

I wish I could help you, but since whilst I was a fan of "The Fall Guy" as a kid, I was (and still am, at the age of 30!) an a far bigger fan of Magnum.
